My Magical Mack

Beware, when most people see Mack they think he is the scariest dog. When I go to school he jumps up on the fence. My dog needs to be tied up when we do the lawns because he will bite the wheel of the lawnmower.

He loves to bark at people when they walk past the fence. When I come home from school he runs to me as fast as he can. He loves all my friends especially Liam.

Its impossible for him to be tired. When I’m not outside I’m usually resting or watching TV. Sometimes my mum holds him and I rack him up and run.  After about 20 seconds I find a hiding spot and after he runs past me a couple of times he finds me.

my marvelous cat

fur and a oval shape kind of head. With two perfect pointy ears sticking out and a little pink nose that is so cute. She has long slim whit whiskers coming out of her Cheeks. Nora has very sharp claws that come in and out of her paws. My cat Nora is a very  small cat she still looks like she is one years old.

My cat Nora has so much personality I don’t even no where to begin. My cat Nora is a very lazy cat all she practically does is sleep sleep and more sleep. Nora loves food so that makes her a very greedy cat she can never have enough food. Nora is such a feisty cat she is always play fighting with our other cat Tonto. She might have a lot   of bad personalities but she is the most loving cat I know.

We always love to be tighter no matter what. Me and Nora love to lie on my bed and cuddle. I snuggling with her but I think she likes it more. She always reserve a spot on the coach for me to sit with her. While  we watch TV. One of me and Nora’s favorite things to do is are lie under the blankets and try find each other. She normally wins. She loves to sleep with me if i I accidentally forget to let her in she meows all night. I love Nora she is the best cat in the world       

The best dog keasha

I’m going to tell you about my dog Keasha. She has hazel shiny eyes and has tiny eye brows that are light brown and when she pulls her puppy eyes they shoot up and pull out the cutest face ever. She is small but also between the middle. She has a black slobbery nose and her coat is as shiny as if it  had been washed 1000 times her claws are white and black.

Keasha is an old girl with different personality’s. She is loving like when she licks me when I’m hurt or sad. To her it means kisses. She is annoying because she barks when nothings there. Keasha forgets she has food and askes for more or she just wants to be greedy I Don’t know?. She is and adventures dog because she wonders of to try and find things but she forgets where she is I love all Keasha’s personality’s

Allthough Keasha may be old we still have fun times together like when I’m about to go to sleep and she comes up to me and askes to be pattered and it’s only when I go to sleep . Keasha sometimes  wants to be liffted up onto my bed so she can snuggle into me. We  used to go for runs and sometimes I would be walking and she would stop and wait for me. I always lay down on the floor and she would come up to me and lick my face. Also if I’m not up in the morning she will bark at the door. Keasha is a wonderful dog and I wouldn’t want another  one I love Keasha she is the best dog in the world.

This is my lovely cat Jerry. Jerry has dark blue eyes that light up at night. He has grey fur with a black stripe that goes down his back. You can’t see his claws until he stretches. He has a little tiny nose on a big face. Jerry is a little bit chubby but not fat.

Let me tell you about Jerry’s personality. Jerry has an imaginative personality. He thinks hes a king but hes not. He comes in at night for food right when we go to sleep. Jerry is a very brave and adventurous since we moved to Napier. Jerry is a very naughty cat. We brought new couches and he digs his claws in and rips it apart and gets a bad telling off.

When I get home from school Jerry is waiting at his bowl for food. At night you know when he wants food because he rubs up against my leg. At night when its bed time he will jump on my bed for a rub. Sometimes we sit on the couch together and watch Uncle Grandpa.

Opti Yachting Day 5

Well, we have come to the end of Optimist Yachting for another year.  It was another chance for rooms 1 and 5 to get out on the water and either develop their skills or their enthusiasm for sailing...or both hopefully!  I have had a great week and hope that all the kids and fantastic parents who assisted us have too.  It takes a community to raise a child and I think that this activity has demonstrated that.  Through school the children had the opportunity to participate and through parent involvement and expertise the experience has been maximised.  Thanks to one and all.

Opti Yachting Day 4!

We managed to get out on the water today and I was impressed to see how much improvement there was in sailing ability and in following routines like washing down the boats and putting everything away.  Some of the children showed great desire to end up soaking wet and heartily enjoyed a capsizing session at the end of our lesson.

As room 6 and 5 have sailed on both their days, we will be inviting the sailors from room 1 and 5 to return on Friday.  Fingers crossed for the weather.  Thanks again to all the parent helpers we have had throughout the week.  You have been amazing! (as you can see below)

I said I would pop this up for anyone that is interested.  Just one of the signs we saw along the estuary today.  I did hear someone comment that it was a pretty big jump from step 3 to 4!  I think I agree.

Opti Yachting Day 3

Well, the weather sadly was against us today.  After a valiant attempt to row instead of sail we were forced to call it a day due to high winds.  Thankfully we were still able to take a walk around Ahuriri estuary.  We stopped for photos, read signs about the local area, were shouted to popsicles (thanks Aaron) and found some fantastic shells, starfish and crabs!  Not all bad then.

Opti Yachting Day 2

We had another good afternoon at Pandora Pond today.  Many thanks to all the parents who put themselves forward to help this week.  We truly could not do it without you.  Special mention to Mike O'Dwyer today who was awesome.  Mike offered some great advice, helped to fix a number of problems with the propeller and introduced activities to the children, advising them on how to steer their yacht through the course he had created.  The wind was very fickle today and changed direction CONSTANTLY, ensuring that the children had to be adaptable and show that they could think on their feet.  I thought they did very well!

Opti Yachting

We have the first day of our optimist yachting under our belts.  The children experienced a great deal of success today and showed that they are pretty competent for beginners (mostly beginners).  A great deal of fun was had, and even some capsizing!  Remember, tacking happens when you turn the tiller towards the sail.  That's the way we like to turn at NCS!  Anyway, here are some photos of our exploits from day one.
